Indigo Central Submarine Cable
Client: Coe Drilling Australia, MSD/Alcatel Submarine Networks
Project: Diving Support for directional bore and cable shore end landing services
Location: Coogee , NSW
The Indigo Central submarine cable forms part of the Indigo network linking Sydney to Perth and then Singapore. Diving support was provided to Coe Drilling Australia to assist with the challenge of a twin bore operation which successfully saw the proving of the 1940m long twin duct HDD. The twin duct bore proved to be a challenge for the dive team working in 34m of water but were successfully able to remove the drilling heads, install the sub sea completion pieces and successfully prove and rope the twin ducts as operational. The cable landing from the ASN vessel Isle De Brehat was successful utilising a small weather window and limited bottom time for the dive team. Post lay cable protection was also installed.
