Utilisation of remote operated vehicles (ROV) allows access to inspect assets that may be inaccessible by diver or deemed unsafe to access and egress by a diver.

ROV inspection mitigates many of the risks associated with diving including limited access and egress, limited bottom time and decompression requirements and additional personnel requirements and therefore costs associated with diving.

A recent example includes the internal inspection to a depth of 24m of the 56 steel caissons that form the inner structure of the Brooklyn rail Bridge (NSW).
